If you’ve been with us for the past few years, you recognized Dove Men+Care’s #RealStrength Super Bowl spot as an inspired update of last year’s “Call For Dads” video. (You might even recognize some of the dads who were being called for.) And you might still be processing the fact that our desire to redefine strength, and align it with care, was broadcasted to almost 200 million people all over the world.

It’s kind of breathtaking.

And now, we want to capitalize on the popularity of this message and keep the conversation going. What does it mean, as a modern man, to be “strong”? And how do all men—fathers and sons, brothers, teachers, coaches, husbands, and friends—show that strength in our daily lives?

Dove Men+Care’s research into the interpretation of #RealStrength has been comprehensive. Nine out of 10 men see caring as a sign of strength, but only 7% of us relate to the way the media depicts masculinity. And we overwhelmingly believe that masculinity has changed since our father’s generation, and that taking care of our families’ needs makes us feel stronger.
