The following was written by Dad 2.0 Scholarship Chair Jeff Bogle.
During the conference in San Francisco earlier this year, the Dad 2.0 Summit team stood on stage together to proudly, and with tears in their eyes, announce that the Scholarship Fund–which had just been launched a few months prior and which helped six guys attend the event for the first time–would officially henceforth be known as the Oren Miller Dad 2.0 Scholarship Fund.
Today, I am officially (and I’ll be honest, with a few tears in my eyes) opening up the process to apply for a 2016 Miller Grant to help a brand-new batch of guys attend the Dad 2.0 Summit in Washington D.C. in February!
Miller Grant recipients will receive $500 to assist with travel to, and lodging in, D.C., as well as a free conference ticket. As we mentioned last year, the number of stipends given will depend on how much money we raise.
Applying for a Miller Grant is simple: Write a short essay or record a short video explaining why you would like to attend the 2016 Dad 2.0 Summit, and send it to me at scholarship [at] dad2summit [dot] com. The process of selecting the Miller Grant recipients remains random, but we’d still like to read or hear in your own words what being in D.C. with hundreds of your peers would mean to you. After all, we are all writers, storytellers, and content creators, right?
The deadline for all applications and fund contributions is December 1 (Giving Tuesday, appropriately). Until then, you’ll be hearing from last year’s Scholarship designees (see below), who’ll be discussing their impressions of Dad 2.015, and how the stipends helped them get there. We hope it will inspire you to apply for one of the (as of now) seven Miller Grants, and/or to help fund more of them!
Thanks in advance for applying for a Miller Grant. We hope to see you our nation’s capital in February!
