GSK’s Panel of Experts Offers Straight Talk About How To #VaccinateForLife

GSK’s panel of experts is here to include dads in very important conversations about how vaccines protect our kids, our parents, and ourselves, as well as how we can remain informed healthcare consumers:

  • Less than 10% of teens and young adults have received a vaccine that helps protect them against Meningitis B—an uncommon, but potentially deadly disease. During this session, we’ll hear from gold medal winning Para-athlete Nick Springer who was diagnosed with meningococcal disease, or meningitis, at the age of 14 while at summer camp.
  • According to the CDC, approximately 15,000 children under the age of 5 were hospitalized because of flu complications during the 2015-16 flu season. While relatively rare, since the 2004-05 season, flu-related deaths in children reported to CDC during regular flu seasons have ranged from 37 deaths to 171 deaths. We’ll hear from Joan Mann, a mom who lost her daughter, Kendra, to flu.
  • We will be joined by Pediatrician and Vice President, Director Scientific Affairs & Public Health, GSK Vaccines, Dr. Leonard Friedland, a doctor and a dad who can help you make sense of the vaccines for your family.
